Hi Sweet Crafty Friends,
Wow, it is November! First and foremost I hope all of you are doing well and are creating for kindness and spreading love. It really is important and truly matters, even if you feel what you are doing is not appreciated, it really is. Please do not give up. <3
What have I been up to? Well, lots of changes and surprises. Honestly, it has been a tough Summer, it has been a challenging few years. Being a hard working responsible adult is tough and life has thrown us a whammy or challenge. We will get through it and we will be stronger because of it. It really has been bittersweet. I am still trying to make sense of things, so I do not want to share too much. Just know all of my crafty friends have helped so, so much.
Real quickly, this is a summary of crafty kindness that is currently taking place:
- World Kindness Day is November 13, 2015. This is exciting to me! I initiated a kindness card exchange on Instagram and Facebook. For the first year, I thought it was a fabulous turnout. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who participated. My cards were mailed a couple days ago. Some may have received today. I will blog and share a pic of the card with an explanation on World Kindness Day. I started receiving amazing kindness cards, which I have shared on Creations For Kindness Instagram. Yes, I am a softy and teared up a little while reading your sweet words. I encouraged people to share with others too and even said they did not have to share with me that it was more important to spread the kindness and reach as many people as we could. Guess what, they shared with others too. Yay!!!!! I am happy to also report that even Jennifer McGuire participated when she has her own special kindness campaign that just launched called Sharing Handmade Kindness. How exciting, right, she will reach so many people. I encourage you to explore Jennifer’s campaign. Just remember every little bit helps, keep spreading kindness. (I am sorry this is not a perfect picture, but I wanted to share with you the kindness cards that were mailed. I was so excited to get them to the post office I forgot to take a picture. My sweet Husband took them to the post office and luckily I was able to reach him to capture a picture prior to handing to the mail clerk.)
- Caring Hearts Card Drive. Every spare minute I have has been spent making cards for this amazing card drive. More information can be found here, Caring Hearts Card Drive. This is the sixth year of the card drive and last year they collected 17,000 cards. The cards are for nursing home residents. I encourage you to make a couple of cards and mail in so the collectors receive by November 27, 2015. Every card counts and will put a smile on someones face.
- Mint Owl Studio, Guest Design. I was pleasantly surprised with kindness when Mint Owl Studio invited me to guest design for them this October 2015. It was super fun and I am so grateful for the opportunity. Mint Owl Studio is a new stamp company, but the owner has been around for awhile. You may know her as Tracy Mae Design. She does fabulous YouTube videos. You need to keep an eye on her store and follow her because her designs are super cute and well thought out.
- Postable. This is a wonderful place to share addresses and birthdays safely and privately. I would love if you would share your address with me at my postable account. Also, if you wish, include your birthday. I will happily add you to my kindness card or happy mail distribution. This is just a fun little image from my Instagram posting.
One of my major goals is to blog more. I think I use Instagram as a crutch, but it has been easier lately. I do not like to write, but I like to create and I like to share. I need help from all of you to give me a push to at least post short posts more often. You cheering me on will help!!!
So, please follow me and leave comments. Your kindness is appreciated.
